The telescope in Muddapur, India, ready to be used by Pietro Tacchini (1838-1905). In 1874 he led an Italian expedition for the Venus transit. Although Bologna astronomers were not among the observers, the Observatory lent the telescope by Steinheil (walnut, brass and iron - focal length 260 cm, diameter of object lens 16.5 cm, length of tube 256 cm).
